THE URGE TO RUIN

We feel a strange urge to jump off a cliff, burn down something, watch the bright fumes flowing, walk into the sea, immerse in the silence of nature, at least once in life.

We are drawn back from this spiral of thoughts by logic and reason. Yet, the basic human madness overpowers for a few seconds. Every time we feel nature in its magnitude, nature lures us into her.

The urge to ruin, that one simple tingling sensation to destroy something perfect. Most of us can’t stand a perfectly new eraser, used only on one corner, a giant whiteboard, sometimes it’s an unintentional morphed feeling to enhance the work.

It’s a basic human instinct driven by anxiety.

We face this “urge to ruin” when we spend more than intended time over a particular thought.

There is a threshold for positive spiral and productive thoughts. Beyond that, it's chaos.

People have many ways to identify this threshold, a chance to hold back from falling into the spiral. When working over something we love, it’s always necessary to make small, consistent changes, to make sure we have something new to think about.

When Dragon queen from GOT burned down an entire city, it was an instinctive urge to ruin and madness for everyone. But, our Khaleesi had a distinctive reason, which eventually led to her death.

When things start to fall in place, it seems like nothing can go wrong. But, there is this mild urge burning in heart, to ruin. People who fall for it are the ones who missed the opportunity. They have an impactful start but succumb to a dramatic end.

So, when nothing can go wrong, and everything seems perfect, watch out for the “BUT” in your thoughts.
