THE MUSEUM

Dubai museum is opposite to the shiv temple, in Bur Dubai. Niki, is an explorer and what better place than museum to explore through time. The DUBAI museum is like a magnificent castle, with antiques, scrolls, artifacts. The perfect place to travel through the history of Dubai.

After hours at museum, Niki hovered over arab street food. Flatbreads, kebabs and meatballs. Mouthwatering platter. If Niki had a choice to choose between street and restaurant. She would choose the street, “it was more authentic and had the rustic arab flavour”, she said.

On the way back to the room, Niki decided to explore the liquor store nearby. The liquor store was sophisticated, displayed all kinds of wine and rum(sells wholesale). So,it's best place to shop for parties.Niki, was about to start a conversation with salesperson about her naive doubts on wine, but it was prayer time. So, they politely asked her to leave or wait until the prayer ends. (incase she wants to buy anything). Niki, was awestruck by their diligence towards prayer. She calmly recedeed.

THE MOSQUE

With one day left to explore Dubai, now Niki has to pick places with prudence. There was a mosque little ahead of her apartment. She wanted to experience the “faith”,even if it was for few seconds. The magic of Dubai, always lied in these places. The prayer rooms, the mosques, the scrolls and museums. So, she went to the mosque. First, there was gridlock, it was afterall the most happening city during weekend. She somehow managed to get to the mosque, they were restrictions, yet she managed to get the glimpse of holiness.

Then she went on lavish “dinner on boat”.Niki said, “that two hours,I felt like royalty”.It was a boat party, with dance, music and food.Niki, had carrot halwa. She was checking how arabs cooked Indian cuisine, No, doubt, it was spot on. Little did she know, halwas were invented by ARABS.

On the boat ride, apart from soothing music, there scenic beauty as well. Dubai looks best at night, she said. The buildings, sky scrappers, mosques, streets all lit up as if it was some dreamland. Then, she wasn’t really tired to go home. So, she went to IMAX. It was huge, with 30 screens, movies in almost all languages.Niki got the ticket for 3000 INR and watched “oh baby” movie. She was a fan Samantha(actress), who else would spend time and money to watch a movie in native language in foreign state. For Niki, its all about the experience.

IMAX

She went back to her room, at around eleven. There was a party, her uncle organised a small surprise party. It was common to have weekend parties, this time it's for Niki. There was music, ice- cream, drinks and lots of travel stories.Niki’s uncle bought a bottle of vodka exclusive for this party. That looked exotic, everyone around were mesmerised by its structure.Niki’s uncle was proud to possess it. He said, “this bottle is too good to be thrown off.”Nikki said, “we can make a flower vase out of it”. With much anticipation, Niki’s uncle poured the vodka into his glass and tried to pass it to his friends. There was a deafening sound, sharp noise and even its echo. There was silence after that. The exquisite vodka bottle shattered into tiny bits with vodka all over the floor, that sharp smell(like vinegar)filled the room.Everyone around were stalled,no one moved a muscle.Niki, started to pick up the glass pieces and her uncle finally spoke,”Its fine. We still got many.”They ordered around 30 different flavours of ice creams.Slowly, everything picked up, music and ambiance all together. The night drifted.

Next morning, Niki woke up, it was the last day and most happiest. Its SHOPPING DAY.
